Conserving Together

The District is currently in a Level 2 Water Alert, which requires customers to reduce their water use by 20 percent and follow a series of 12 Mandatory Water-Use Rules, including:

  • Irrigation of lawns, landscapes or other vegetation is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m
  • Watering is limited to no more than a maximum of ten minutes per day, per station. This does not include drip irrigation or high-efficiency sprinkler systems.
  • Excessive watering resulting in runoff is prohibited
  • No hosing down hard or paved surfaces
  • All major leaks, breaks or malfunctions must be fixed in 72 hours
  • Fountains and decorative water features must use re-circulated water
  • A bucket or hose with a positive shutoff nozzle must be used when washing vehicles
  • Restaurants will serve water only upon request
  • Hotels must provide the option to not launder linens daily
  • New water service will not be provided to structures using
    single-pass cooling systems
  • New commercial laundry and carwash systems must install recirculating potable water systems
  • Restaurants are required to use use water conserving dish wash spray valves

Irrigation Schedule

As part of Water Supply Response Level 2, residential and commercial watering must also be limited to the three days per week shown in the chart below.
